No, you didn’t misread the title—Bobby joined me in the studio today! Yes, Dr. Flossy has put a pause on the dental biz to join me in the content creating world of Tik Tok, Instagram and everything in between. On the show we talked all things quarantine life, what it’s been like to homeschool the kids and what we’re doing to not only survive, but thrive during this unprecedented time. Uncharted Territory

I’m a planner. At least, I try to be. But 2020 barreled in and knocked all my plans out the window. As if I thought running two social media accounts was hard enough after Boss Baby Brody went viral, hear how things are going now that I’m also trying to balance homeschooling the kids, creating relevant blog content and keeping up with cooking (I do try to sneak some sleep in there at some point, but it’s a day-by-day basis) in the midst of COVID-19. What we’re doing to combat the stress? Grab a big cup of coffee and call in for backup—AKA, Bobby. We talk about what it’s been like to relinquish control and take things moment by moment. This is the world we’re living in now, folks.

Connecting From Afar

Turns out we’re sort of loving the quarantine life. Check back in a few weeks to see if that’s still the case, but Bobby has enjoyed the perks of sleeping in and we’re all loving the chance to spend more time together. On a serious note, this is a shocking and scary time in our world. We’re sending our love and thoughts to every family affected—financially, health-wise and beyond. At the Schaffer home base, we’re doing our part to recognize and support small businesses (check my stories to see some of my favorites!) and bring even a hint of joy to your day with our insane videos and dance parties.

How We Met

To get our minds off of all of the craziness going on, Bobby and I rehashed our early days in NYC. Me, a born and bred New Yorker, and Bobby, a Southern boy headed to dental school have quite a few must-hear stories from those pre-kid days. With my total chaos and his grounding nature, we truly are the perfect match. And while now his days are spent dedicated to my multiple renovation projects, I know he wouldn’t trade it for the world….right, Bobby?
