The opioid epidemic is a growing problem in the United States. It affects individuals and families across all demographics. The opioid epidemic and overdose awareness is a story I never dreamed I would tell. No one is immune.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an average of 125 people die every day from an opioid overdose. This number has been steadily increasing in recent years due to fentanyl. It is now the leading cause of death for people under the age of 50 in the United States.

Tens of thousands of fentanyl-related deaths in our country over the past year. For those of you who don’t know, Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid pain reliever 50 to 100 times more powerful than heroin.

Most individuals using other drugs, whether experimentally or to feed an addiction, are blatantly unaware that deadly fentanyl is being used to lace drugs like pain pills and cocaine. It is a cheaper way to produce a similar high. However, it is 50 to 100 times more powerful than other opioids. Fentanyl is a silent killer.

If you know someone who is suffering from addiction, please do something.
