Making a Maxi Dress Work For the New Season

You guys, I’m not even mad that it’s still summer. Yes, I’m ready and waiting for all things chilly, and pumpkin, and fall, but I will miss my warm-weather wardrobe. Including beautiful dresses like these! There’s nothing like a one-and-done outfit—it’s easy to wear, easy to style, and it makes my mornings so quick. I know fall is literally days away, so I’m already planning ways to make this maxi dress work well into the next season. I’m thinking chunky knit cardigans. It’s comfortable, it’s cool, and has that boho look that I love.

While I’m already planning how I’ll style it when the weather starts to cool down, right now I’m enjoying how light and breezy it feels. Here in San Diego, pairing it with sunnies, a straw bag, and white boots still feel summery and light and appropriate for the weather. It looks bright and fun, perfect for milking those last few days of summer. I feel caught between my love for easy summer sundresses and cozy fall layers—but maybe with this maxi dress, I can have them both!
