Actor Dennis Quaid

Yes, the Dennis Quaid! Quaid is a renowned American actor known for his impeccable acting and impressive catalog of dramatic and comedic roles since the 1980s. Some of his most notable credits including “Breaking Away,” “The Big Easy,” “Innerspace,” “The Parent Trap,” “Traffic,” “The Rookie,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” “Vantage Point,” and “The Intruder,”—but the list goes on! Quaid’s unmatched talent, specifically for his role in “Far From Heaven,” brought him Best Supporting Actor accolades from the New York Film Critics Circle Award, Chicago Film Critics Association Award, and the Online Film Critics Society Award. He’s also received acknowledgment with multiple nominations at the Golden Globe Awards, the Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Award.

Author and Screenwriter W. Bruce Cameron

Cameron is the author and screenwriter of the global phenomenon “A Dog’s Purpose” series. He began his career writing a family newspaper humor column, eventually becoming an internationally-syndicated columnist. His column, 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter became a New York Times Bestselling book and a People’s Choice Award Winning series on ABC. He is perhaps best known, however, as the Benchley Award Winning, #1 USA TODAY and #1 New York Times Bestselling author of the “A Dog’s Purpose” series of books. He’s also, along with his wife Cathryn Michon, the screenwriter for the Amblin/Universal film “A Dog’s Purpose,” which has gone on to become the most successful international, live-action dog movie of all time. He has published 15 books, and his books have become international bestsellers, having been translated into over 50 languages. “A Dog’s Journey” will be released on May 17th of 2019. He and his wife are screenwriters. He is currently at work on the highly-anticipated novel “A Dog’s Purpose 3: A Dog’s Promise.”

A Dog’s Journey Is a Must-See

Some friendships transcend lifetimes. In “A Dog’s Journey,” the sequel to the heartwarming global hit “A Dog’s Purpose,” beloved dog Bailey finds his new destiny and forms an unbreakable bond that will lead him, and the people he loves, to places they never imagined. Every dog happens for a reason and no dog owner can define their pet with just a single word, especially after it leaves us. Saying goodbye to the pet you love is like having all of your nerve endings exposed, and more often than not, we outlive our pets and have to face that agony. However, I simply couldn’t imagine life without my dogs. Going down the unpathed roads of life with a dog by your side can be the most nurturing and fulfilling experience we can have as humans.

The Story Behind the Movie

Bruce Cameron, along with with his now wife, Kathryn Michon, are the screenwriters for this brilliantly laid out, and heartwarming film. The premise of this film stemmed from a personal experience they had shared at a time when they were dating. Cameron shares how his narrative would soon become the first of a series of best-selling books. During our interview, we learn the process he went through, from best-selling book to best-selling movie series, with more on the way!

A Dream Role

The multi-talented actor Dennis Quaid is a dog-lover through and through—he even brought his dog, Peaches, to the interview! While we tried not to fangirl too hard, Quaid chats with us about the movie, his love for “man’s best friend,” and how he applied his revered acting chops to this beloved story. He even lets us in on his reaction upon initially reading the script. His first thoughts? Quaid knew this was a role he had to play after reading the first few lines.
