With everyone staying home right now, so many of us are updating and redecorating our homes, myself included. My house is always a work in progress. I love design, so I’m always changing or adding things to make each room beautiful and functional for our family.

So when I was redoing my guest room and given the opportunity to partner with Stikwood, I jumped at the chance. Reclaimed wood planks in my house? Yes, please! It was exactly the warmth and personal touch my guest room needed to make it feel like it was a part of my home.

Stikwood isn’t wallpaper because it’s crafted from 100 percent real sustainable and reclaimed wood planks.

Making Our House a Home

After I took the Arhaus Designer Challenge, I knew my guest room needed something else to make it pop. I love the farmhouse aesthetic, which I use all over my home, and knew this room needed a little of that down-to-earth feel.

And the Stikwood Peel & Stik Wall Planks were the perfect solution. The reclaimed pine wood planks have a slightly rugged look to them, with markings like nail holes, grain variations, and natural knots to add personality to the wood. It added character to a room that’s usually an afterthought.

Decorating My New Walls

At first, I was a little worried that it might be a bigger job than I could tackle. Nope! It turned out to be one of the easiest DIY projects I’ve actually done for my home. You literally just peel and stick! We used the Stikwood J-roller to make it a little easier, but we finished the whole wall in an afternoon, even with the kids running around.

And it was simple enough that now I want to decorate other walls in my home! Plus, partnering with Stikwood was great as they helped me find the right look for my newly-decorated room—reclaimed wood planks in the sand stone shade. And doesn’t it look awesome?
