Yesterday, one of our supporters DM’ed me a hateful video that was posted on another “moms” account. She was taken back and upset. The first thing I said to myself was wow, she’s a mom to 5 children posting MY CHILD on her feed. Who does that? She does, that’s who? I was raised and continue to raise my children that we are all one. We are not homophobic, racist, anti- Semitic, transphobic and the list goes on. Children are not born identifying people with a particular race, gender or ethnicity. I am saying this very loud to the people in the back: CHILDREN DO NOT NATURALLY DISCRIMINATE!
It’s been my hope since the first day I have given birth to my 1st, 2nd…… 4th child (who’s counting) that each of them have acceptance baked into their world view! It starts at home, and it’s our job to encourage anti-hate, anti- judgement, anti- racism in kids.
The reason why I mention this horrible video about my child on this moms page ….who calls herself a patriot, (insert car screech) 🚙 What exactly has she done for our country???? My husband served in the war and served his country. But let me tell you what she has done … she has taught and is teaching her 5 kids to judge, to hate, to ridicule other people’s kids on her social media. And that is the problem. I don’t need to tell you, because we already know Brody is happy, confident and he is certainly thriving being himself.
This post is a reminder to let kids be kids, have fun and be the role model they need. I can assure you that teaching hate is a choice and it’s truly not a good one. Like Mother Theresa said, “Love begins at home and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do.”

I am always a glass-half-full kind of mom, but 4 kids in 3 different schools and intense sports commitments has me literally living out of my Hyundai! 🚙 Grateful for my brood and I know the days feel longer and the years are shorter. Don’t get me wrong, I honor my role as mom, but I don’t remember sports being this intense. It’s like they are training for the Olympics. So when Monday rolls again, takes me a few minutes to get pumped. Here we are again, sports till night time. 🗽I seriously love a good tattoo, not referring to the teddy bear I had tattooed by my (who-ha) when I was in college! Ha! But, getting my kids names was definitely so meaningful! 💃🫶🏼 I think what I love about tattoos is that each one tells a story! I could only imagine the stories @winterstone can tell! He’s the artist who wrote and inked my kids names! Gosh, the story how we met is beyond cool, and the reason why I wanted him to do my arm. Will share that story later today in stories. Tell me, how many tattoos do you have and what’s the story behind the ink? For me, I have four: one on my back when the tr%^# stamp came out and it represented for me exiting a toxic relationship and starting my life over. My college not-so-cool teddy bear! My brood of kids. And the word “Sissy” on my other arm because that’s what my brother called me and his girlfriend did that one in my kitchen! Behind every great family, is a mom who thinks she could have done it better. I grew up with parents who definitely could have done things better. The overthinking, the worry, the should of, could of is REAL! 😩 I partly blame this on us moms having too much information and you mix that with a little childhood trauma and the result is open tab hell! Don’t get me wrong, I think we have made great progress from the 80’s when I walked a mile to CCD school while grandma drank her TAB! 🤣
One thing I’m jealous of is the 80’s mom didn’t have the magnitude of worry we have. Ok maybe they shouldn’t have sent me to the theater at 7 years old to watch Friday the 13th with my cousins, but they didn’t worry. I definitely watched way too much Nancy Grace as I was growing up though and it caused me to trust no one.
I simply feel inundated with so much information, especially now that I have two in high school and this territory is scary as F%^* ! The information out there is impossible to process effectively so instead, i have a million open tabs filled with worry. 🤬🤯
We need to cut this shit out and stop overthinking everything. Filter out some of the noise and the catastrophic headlines we read daily. I am working on NOT instilling fear in my kids, but to still be street smart. Know your surroundings, assess all spaces where you are and no where all exits are! See, here i go again. 😩🙏🏼 I am going to try to close tabs and smile and enjoy, because you know what? Our kids too with have a plethora on information that they too need to process.
Here’s to unsticking your churning mom brain, staying away from bad news, unplugging from worrying and comparing and being good to our empathetic selves who simply can’t take everything on.
