Stylish Pet-Friendly Ways to Add to Your Home Decor

We’re all working from home, sheltering in place and hunkering down with our family, and that includes our four-legged friends. We’re all spending more time with our pets than we ever did before, and while they undoubtedly appreciate all that extra puppy playtime, our homes are taking a beating with all those toys all over the living room. So it’s time to get your pet’s things organized and neat. If your pet rules the place as ours do (oops!), here are some easy tips to organize your pet’s necessities to match your home decor style and make them feel like they’re just as important as the rest of the family!

Puppies love games such as hide and seek! Hide, then call your pup’s name so she can try to find you.

Keep It In The Same Color Scheme

We never thought we’d be those people, but we’re all about keeping it with the theme! One of the easiest ways to keep your pet’s things organized and stylish? Going for a bougie dog bed. While you can always grab a cheap one from your local supermarket, most times the dog beds tend to be low quality and won’t match your home decor. Splurging a little will go a long way with a bed your dog will love (and their joints will love, too!) and one that also matches the rest of your home!

Find Cute Wall Organizers

Say goodbye to that overstuffed drawer full of leads, collars and doggie bags. It can quickly turn into a junk drawer. Not only will a wall organizer help ensure you keep things organized (sometimes that’s the only way we keep things tidy), it also looks cute and clean! You can hang leashes, collars, a bag of doggie bags or any other pieces your pup may need. The best part is you don’t really need to get one that’s specific for dogs. Head to any home decor store and find a cool wall shelf or jewelry organizer and you’re good to go! Of course, the doggie-themed ones are pretty adorable, too.

According to a study shared by Cornell University, dogs were domesticated between 9,000 and 34,000 years ago.

Go for Stylish Storage

For toys, treats or blankets—or even doggie vests if you’re one of those dog parents (we’re not judging)—go for simple yet stylish storage. Floor baskets are great for toys and can easily be tucked away so it’s not so obvious all of your pup’s favorite toys are in the center of the living room. Also, consider large clear containers or ceramic containers for food or treats, it adds to the fun pet decor—just don’t forget the labels!

More than half of all U.S. presidents have owned dogs. President Calvin Coolidge owned at least a dozen dogs.
